"What Is AI, Really?" is a fully print-and-teach lesson. No logins, no student devices, no subscriptions, no prep beyond hitting print. It is built for real classrooms, including the ones where AI tools are blocked.
 
Here is how it works. Students become programmers. They write step-by-step instructions for a partner who acts as a completely literal robot. The robot follows those instructions exactly, the drawings go hilariously wrong, and students uncover the big idea themselves: computers do exactly what you say, not what you mean. That single insight is the foundation for understanding AI, algorithms, and prompting for the rest of the year.
 
It runs in one 45 to 50 minute class period and works as a standalone lesson, a sub plan, an anchor for a digital citizenship unit, or the launch day of a full AI unit.
